Overview

The tour starts at 4:00 am with pick up from your hotel in Cusco. We head to Cusipata for a buffet breakfast, and then continue by vehicle to the starting point of the hike. The hike to the Colored Mountain takes about an hour and a half and offers spectacular views and the opportunity to see local wildlife such as llamas and alpacas.
Arriving at the viewpoint, you will enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountain with its unique natural colors. Afterwards, we return to Cusipata for a buffet lunch before returning to Cusco, arriving between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm.

Itinerary

Rainbow Mountain Day Tour

We start our exciting day at 4:00 am with pick up from your hotel in Cusco. Make sure you are ready with warm clothes, comfortable shoes and a lot of fun.
We head to Cusipata, a drive of approximately two hours, where a delicious breakfast buffet awaits to recharge your batteries. Taste some local dishes while you prepare for the adventure.
After breakfast, we continue by vehicle to the start of the hike. In one hour, we will arrive at the starting point to begin our ascent to the famous Colored Mountain. The hike takes about an hour and a half, and although it can be a bit challenging due to the altitude, the views are totally worth it. During the hike, don’t be surprised if you come across llamas and alpacas, as they are part of the local landscape.
When you reach the viewpoint, you will have free time to enjoy the views and take the best pictures of the incredible range of colors that make this mountain famous. Take a moment to breathe and absorb the magic of the place.
Then, we will start our descent back to the parking area, where our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to Cusipata. There, we will enjoy a buffet lunch with delicious typical dishes.
Finally, we return to Cusco, where we will drop you off at your hotel or at the place of your choice, approximately between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm. It will be an unforgettable day full of breathtaking landscapes and unique experiences.

Before You Go

Acclimatization: Spend at least one day in Cusco before the tour to acclimatize to the altitude. This will help you to better enjoy the hike.

Footwear: Wear comfortable, water-resistant hiking boots to cope with the uneven and potentially slippery terrain.
